One new movie and another on the way!

I've finished my Opent For Business commercial Contest Entry! You can view it on the Movies page.
I like it a lot even though it doesn't exactly feature the type of business Maxis is probably looking for in this contest. It was amazingly difficult to make a movie that is only one minute! There was so much good stuff I had to cut out. Oh well. I'm very happy with the result. I hope you enjoy it!
I've also been working on another movie for about a week now. I'm really excited about it. It's unlike anything I've done so far. I've got about the first half of it done so far. The editing is very intense. I've done about 100 text frames so far, and have at least 100 more. It's going to be a music video to a Beck song. Actually it's a remix of a Beck song, but the movie does not follow the lyrics at all. I'm very excited about it and I hope it will turn out as good as I hope and imagine!

Under Construction

I'm in the process of creating a new design for my website, as you may have noticed. It is still under construction and will finish when I have finally moved my whole site over to a new host! I'm very excited as the new layout and navigation should be much more professional looking and fun!

Against All Odds

I finished it! Yay! I'm not too happy with it, but happy enough to release it. If you haven't watched it yet, please do so before reading this as it contains spoilers.
I think it's funny what people have and haven't noticed in it so far. I'm glad at least some people realize that the character is passing by memories of his wife and himself and not just random poeple. I realized half-way through that I should have made the characters more unique looking so that it would be more obvious. But I'm not patient enough to re-shoot when I'm that far along. As far as I can tell, no one has yet noticed that the wife is at the funeral. I was really worried about that during shooting but I guess it doesn't really matter. I suppose I need to stop obsessing over the little things now that it's done.

My next project

I've been working on my next project for a few days now. It's very slow going but I'm about halfway done. It's been incredibly difficult to get some of the shots I wanted. I've compromised quite a bit but I'm still liking it so far.
I had another download scare with my game not working, so I just took out the stuff I downloaded that day and it worked. Damn modthesims2! They have so many crappy downloads. Plus it's too difficult to find good stuff with the search function. Way to encourage people to use search, modthesims2!
One scene in the movie requires a few black outfits. Do you realize how hard it is to find black, non-whorish, non-goth outfits out there? I had to compromise with that too. There's more pancaketitz showing than I would like in some scenes, but what are you going to do?
Well, I guess I'll get back to work...

Boo!

I'm back! If you didn't notice, I hadn't made any movies for 2 and 1/2 months. I had a bad download that I needed to get rid of, which shouldn't have taken 2 and 1/2 months, but when you have 30,000 downloads, finding one bad one is harder than finding a needle in a haystack. But I fixed everything yesterday and now I have a new movie! Yay!
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten over my downloading addiction. I'm obsessed. But I will try to be more careful from now on.
My new movie, Fred Jones, is as the description says about a man who is full of regret and loneliness. I also meant for it to be about time in general, and how he feels pushed out by the younger generation. I was unable to really include this aspect of the movie as much as I wanted to but left some parts in there. For example, I made all of the other characters using skin tones and clothing that are more realistic (not Maxis-made). The only realistic part of Fred Jones is his eyes. It's nearly impossible to tell, however, so now you know.
I have at least 3 more solid ideas that I'm working on, so I promise I will be around much more from now on!

If you are entering the contest, I hope you're finished by now. Or at least by midnight tonight. There are some fantastic entries out there, but I am still hopeful to get 3rd. A new graphics card for my desktop would be fantastic! Of course $5,000 or a new computer would be better, but I'm not keeping my hopes up for that.
Thanks to all of the wonderful people who have given me such nice comments everywhere. Many people have asked about the sets and the jumping effect. The sets I made myself. They took forever, but I enjoy building almost as much as making movies. The jump was super easy and Nova was kind enough to post my article on Simss99 about it. You can see it here.
